ButanGas makes a basket: it continues its collaboration with VL Pesaro and will sponsor the Mario Bortoluzzi Memorial.

Hot spirit, passion, agonism and great determination: these are the elements at the basis of a great team and necessary for success, even more so in sports. Also in the 2022/2023 season, ButanGas has decided to be close to sport through the renewed partnership with the Carpegna Prosciutto Basket Pesaro and the sponsorship of the Memorial Mario Bortoluzzi to be held in Lignano Sabbiadoro on 2 and 3 September 2022.

The bond between ButanGas and Vuelle is long-standing and has characterised the history of Pesaro basketball in several stages. The company, which can count on 15 branches, 15 operating units and 9 large storage and bottling plants throughout the country – founded in 1948 – loves the red and white colours and also this season aims to involve all the fans of Carpegna Prosciutto Basket Pesaro. In the wake of the great success of the last two seasons, also this year on the official social networks of the Pesaro club and those of ButanGas, fans – as part of a fan engagement strategy – will be able to vote at the end of each match for the ButanGas MEP (Most Energetic Player), i.e. the player they think will have performed the best with the Vuelle jersey.

The ButanGas MEPs will be decreed at the end of each match, at the end of each month and at the conclusion of the regular season when the ButanGas MEP of the Carpegna Prosciutto Basket Pesaro 2022/2023 will be awarded. A wonderful novelty for all those who love Vuelle: it will be one of the fans who will personally present the award to the MEP of the year. “History, passion and energy, these are the values that we connect to the glorious Pesaro basketball club and that we also put into practice every day in our activities,” comments ButanGas Deputy Director Demetrio Moscato.

The new season of the Eagles Gesteco Cividale, which has just achieved the historic goal of promotion to the A2 series, will begin with the Mario Bortoluzzi Memorial. The quadrangular, sponsored by ButanGas, also this year will be organised in Lignano Sabbiadoro, a tradition that is renewed and that always attracts many fans. Since last year the Lignanobasket has been dedicated to the memory of Mario Bortoluzzi a great fan of the Eagles Gasteco Cividale and friend and colleague who worked in ButanGas with the same passion and love he had for basketball.

As says, the Vice-Director of ButanGas Demetrio Moscato “this year as ButanGas we are further pleased to be close to the sport because it will allow us to carry on the passion of one of our colleague, Mario Bortoluzzi, to whom is dedicated the Tournament of Lignano”. At the tournament Mario Bortoluzzi-ButanGas will participate four teams of the highest level, that will battle in the sports hall of Viale Europa in Lignano, with the classic formula of semi-finals and finals. For the 2022 edition there will be, in addition to Gesteco Cividale, also Rimini, Forlì and a Croatian team of Serie A, the Skrljevo.

That of the sponsorship of the Mario Bortoluzzi Memorial is an issue that is very much on the minds of the entire ButanGas organisation, and in particular of the Portogruaro branch, where Mario worked, because as all his work colleagues remember, “Mario Bortoluzzi was more than a colleague, he was a true friend. Always ready to give advice, to help others without expecting anything in return; a sunny person with a big heart. His presence enriched all of us at work, but above all in the human aspect,’ they conclude, ‘we still often use some of his sayings and remember him with joy, because that is how he would have wanted it. For all of us in the branch it is as if he was a constant presence, even today. This Memorial is also a way to carry on his passions, like basketball. We are really happy and excited about it’.
